Today, I had an amazing portrait photo shoot with a new natural model. I can’t wait to develop the negatives tomorrow to show them to you all. Before the model came to location, I was preparing my Mamiya RZ67 Pro IID in fully lit room. Guess what happened! Another stupid mistake! Accidentally, I opened the film back door! I had a roll of Fuji Acros 100 half way through in the back with four frames left! The soonest I opened the door, put the cassette back so that less lights gets in! Just an hour ago, I developed the negs! Can’t believe only the last frame was damaged and the other five were intact! God, that was great to see those lovely long exposures survived although I lost one of my favorites. I have to do that photo sometime soon.
Lessons learned!? If you have a Mamiya RZ67 Pro II or IID and accidentally open film back door while the roll is half way through, just make sure you quickly close the door. You would only miss the last frame. I believe that is due to the design of RZ67 Pro II film back. Really well done Mamiya.
